I'd mentioned a couple of weeks ago about my participation in the John Lewis Secret Santa challenge. Before I plunge into my long spiel, I and many millions of others in the U.K love John Lewis simply because of the fantastic customer service. These guys own Waitrose as well which I adore too. If you haven't known about this, here's a trivia - their employees are partners/shareholders of the company which will give you a clue why there's such an emphasis on customer service. Look after and reward your employees and they, in turn will run the business well. I only wish that more companies adopt this ethos.
I was really lucky to have Danielle of Miss Sunshine Sparkle who is a total sweetheart as my Secret Santa partner. I was wrecked with nerves because 1) all my friends and family know that I'm rubbish at gift giving/wrapping (ask my goddaughter) 2) Danielle is a girly girl and I'm a real tomboy. In any case, we both picked out the right presents for each other. Whew! This 100% cashmere snood by Alice Temperley hasn't left my neck all weekend. I've been dying for a grey cashmere scarf and this couldn't have come at a better time especially when the temperature has nosedived last week. Danielle must've read my mind. A huge thank you to John Lewis for the generous gift and the fabulous PR agency who graciously held my hand throughout the process.

Steph, if you have a chance, check out John Lewis video and the year before. Tear jerker.
DeleteAwwww such a cute gift! I love doing Secret Santas.
ReplyDeleteI get panic attacks when I hear the words Secret Santa :P I'm just pleased I redeemed myself by choosing the right gift this time.
DeleteOoh, that looks lovely and cosy! Lucky you! And looks like you did a great job for Danielle too :)
ReplyDeleteI was expecting a £10 gift but cashmere! I won't say no to that.
DeleteDo you know, I don't do snoods but I could certainly do this cashmere one. What a lovely Secret Santa present and it's lovely to receive something which someone has thought about for you and taken the trouble to find out your tastes and vice versa.
ReplyDeleteAnd I try that dratted coat on every time in Zara and still it looks rubbish on me. You wear it well Marlene.
A friend asked if the coat was from Isabel Marant!! Her jaw dropped when I said it was £25!
DeleteMarlene this snood is beautiful and I bet it's just as soft and cosy as it looks in these pictures! Such a lovely gift :)
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Daniella xox
I didn't even know what a snood was but I'm a convert now.
DeleteWhat a FABLOUS gift! I love John Lewis too - I have never ever ever had an cause for complaint
ReplyDeleteLOVE the first pic of you!! So beautiful!! Sounds like such a fun thing - need to look into John Lewis! And that cashmere snood is beautiful! I need to get my hands on a "snood" too. I thought they were the same as an infinity scarf but I guess they are different!
