Whenever I see a friend carrying a designer bag, I have to fight the urge to rummage inside it to see if I could pull out any treasures. It's a less perverted tendency compared to a Peeping Tom (or Peeping Marlene), don't ya think so? Thankfully, I have a number of friends who are no longer taken aback by my eccentricities.

I've been eyeing this Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir ever since it was first launched. I love how my friend swung it across her body. It's so understated yet utterly chic and totally practical. I've written about it previously but seeing it on a friend has re-ignited my love for the bag. The buttery soft leather is a joy to touch. The strap is genius! It's something that Longchamp should've incorporated into ALL their Le Pliage range years ago. You could pack a ton into this medium sized tote. The only thing I'm worried about is the corners.

What do you think of the bag? If you own one, what is your experience so far?

  1. I kid you not, whenever I meet my friend for a drink, by number two I'm asking like a kid "What's in your bag then?" And then she will then delight me with the oddbod contents. I'm not a bag lady, I put keys and money in my pockets most days so it amazes me how much stuff folk cart around!

  4. Oh I love the classic Longchamp Le Pliages, but ever since I first saw (and felt!) one of these, I have been in love. But I know my poor corners on the two regular totes I have and I would be way too worried about the same happening to this model. I so wish they were stronger! And I love that the bag comes with a strap. To me this is as close to perfection

  5. I really want a Le Pliage, as I have heard that they make the best bags for travelling. I almost bought a nylon one duty free while in the UK but didn't, and have been regretting it ever since.

  6. Oh my, those are one very glamorous innards of a bag, loving that goldy wee purse. Mine is filled with age old coins with chewing gum and pen-marked everything. Must raise my game.

  7. That bag looks really great! Most of my days I carry a Longchamp Le Pliage to work. With this dreadful weather here and with so much rain it's the safest option. I don't want to ruin any of my precious leather bags. I think it's such a worry-free bag but maybe a bit plain. I like this one better, just a little bit more dressier.

  9. I thought you actually had one for some reason - probably explains why I've not seen it featured yet.

I aspire to have a bag and bag innards (borrowing your description here Jody) like this one day. One day .....

  10. I promise you this Marlene ... when we meet, I will be tucking my bag well out of your sight. Would be mortified to show you the contents. Certainly not as beautiful or as organised as the bag you've shown :)

  11. I love these kinds of posts! I remember doing one on my own bag when I hadn't been blogging for very long! I have never really taken much notice of Longchamp to be honest but I have my eye on her Chanel purse! x

  12. I forgot about this bag! I need one in black. The nylon totes are my travel staple and this just makes sense. I say get it and let the corners do what they do. It's a great value, IMO!

  13. I want to steal her Chanel wallet.

  14. I have both the small and medium version. It's extremely useful and low-profile. I was almost pickpocket one time on the Paris tube carrying a Chanel bag, so the medium size came in handy if you want to avoid attention.

However, I do have some issues about the strap cutting into my shoulder sometimes. (Or maybe I should just quite carrying heavy things).
