Some of the best meals I've ever had were the simplest and cheapest to make. It's cold and dreary outside and you need comfort food. Or you're having a few friends over and you'd much rather spend the time to catch-up than slaving in the kitchen. Perhaps you've had a long hard slog at work and the last thing you want to do is cook but frozen TV dinners just doesn't cut it anymore. A simple classic dish like baked camembert is easy enough to do even if you're not a fan of cooking. This will impress even your most hardcore gourmand friends.
The gooey melted camembert infused with garlic and rosemary tastes absolutely divine with crusty bread and a glass of wine. For an even healthier option, cut up strips of carrots and celery. Just make sure you cut them chunky enough to scoop up the cheese. Why bother going out to eat when you can cook a "gourmet" meal for under £5?
All you need is a 250g wheel of camembert in a wooden box, a few sprigs of rosemary, 3 cloves of garlic and extra virgin of olive oil. Slice off the top rind and insert cloves of garlic into the camembert. Add the sprigs of rosemary and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Bake in a preheated oven for 10-15 minutes at 180 - 200 degree Celcius and voila, you've got yourself a meal. Simple, isn't it? The best thing of all.....practically no washing up. That in my mind makes this dish a winner every time.
Wow! That'll be a winner in my house for sure!

I just added Camembert to my shopping list. Love the reddish garlic cloves. All I can ever find around here are the white ones. The red adds nice color.
