Trend Spotting: Tunic over pants Budget Challenge

Wednesday, 9 February 2011
Once again I challenged myself to put together outfits from my own closet. There are a thousand and one other dresses, shoes, pants and tops that I'd love to get from my favorite American and French contemporary designers if I have deep pockets. This serve as a personal journal too as I hate trying to figure out what to wear. So in the morning amidst all the chaos to make it to school before the bell goes off, all I have to do is click on my own posts and check out the photos of the ensembles I've posted. I call them my mommy uniform because they hide all sins (aka the unavoidable muffin top. Each item was purchased during the sales or on eBay at highly discounted price. I wonder if I should start calling myself Recessionista :oP

I wore this for the first day of Chinese New Year. Something new, something red and a butterfly to symbolize the beginning of spring (since CNY is also known as the Spring festival) and the new year. Outfit: All Saints Stanton leather jacket, Zadig et Voltaire jumper, Uniqlo leggings and Repetto flats. Watch: Hermes Auto Cape Cod Double Tour

Outfit: Gap knitted cotton cardigan, Tsumori Chisato for Petit Bateau Men's sweatshirt, Uniqlo leggings, Just in Case belt (I'll need to snip off the end. Waaaay too long), Stuart Weitzman boots.

I don't normally do cutesy clothes but....... I'm a fan of both Tsumori Chisato and Petit Bateau.
