Thank you all so much for your support and vote as well as the encouraging comments. Apparently, I've got till May the something (I'm terrible with dates) to hustle everyone for votes so click here if you think my photos (erm...not including ones taken with my phone!!) are good enough to garner a chance in the finals of the Brilliance in Blogging Award 2013

Like most women who were hooked on Sex And the City, I had serious heart palpitations whenever I caught a glimpse of the infamous Manolo Blahnik Sedaraby beauties on SJP's feet. So on a trip to Hong Kong many years ago, a country professed to have size 34 shoes in abundance, I walked up to the Manolo Blahnik store to inquire about the Sedaraby heels. Apparently, I had to custom order which would take as long as the average gestation period of a human, pay an additional fee for the privilege of having them made for my pixie sized feet on top of handing over an extortionate amount which was enough to dissolve a shoe addict to tears.
I was trawling through eBay listings as you would when you're bored and found these secondhand Sedarabys. A HUGE thanks to my shopping buddy in the US, Lauraloo (thank you!!) for forwarding them to me. I'm £45 poorer as opposed to £600 so they're practically a bargain.
I was so thrilled that I'd managed to nab a pair of shoes in MY size for a change. BUT.....once the euphoria wore off, it dawned on me that I'm practically rendered handicapped when these 3.5 inch heels are on my feet. I've been practicing my catwalk by strutting from the lounge to my bedroom and back again or in my case, it looked more like a stickman shuffle. Just so you know, there's no way in hell I can survive walking 100 meters in them.Yet. Watch this space.........
**I know the reviews recommended sizing up but these are true to size for me.

Thank you for your vote, Angie!
DeleteOh wow that is amazing, they are gorgeous and so cheap! Would be lovely for a bride too xx
ReplyDeleteNow that is what I call a TOTAL BARGAIN!
ReplyDeleteWhat do they look like on? What will you wear with?
Fiona, I can only manage the short distance between the bedroom and lounge. Wearing them outside and being photographed may be a little risky at the moment.
DeleteAmazing bargain, wow! They are such pretty shoes. You'll have to do an outfit post, I'm curious to see what you'll style them with. Keep practising that walk!
ReplyDeleteYou'll see them styled properly the day I manage to walk in them!!
DeleteI was dying for those shoes too...found a look-alike at Nordstrom for about $150 and have enjoyed them ever since. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your purchase! For me, 3 - 5 inch heels are easy to walk in so it wasn't ever an issue. I find my faux-Manolos very comfortable since they're at the lower end of my heel height range. :)
Jill, I think I saw those faux Manolos on the Nordies website. The reviews are great.
DeleteJust voted for you even though you seem to nab all the best ebay bargains :)
ReplyDeleteThank you ever so much!
DeleteSerious bargain and such beautiful shoes. Please let us in on the secret if you figure out a way to walk in them. V high heels and I do NOT get on ... as much as I would love to!
ReplyDeleteerm...pretty to look at, a bargain to be had but no idea how to walk in them.
DeleteHi there! Seriously gorgeous bargain and well spotted-you just need to get to grips with the heels now!! Congratulations on the BIB nomination, well deserved xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon!
DeleteYou know how much I love my Manolos. They are so well made and beautiful, but always comfy too. So happy you got them.
ReplyDeleteJust voted for you!!! Would love to see these shoes on you - must post!
ReplyDeleteThose are so pretty Marlene and what an awesome deal you got on them! Hoping they end up working out and you're able to walk in them. :)

Those are a great buy! I'm sure you will end up pulling them off and walking more than you thought. Well worth the effort is those little beauties! I'm addicted to eBay for the reason of being able to pick up designer buys at affordable prices. It makes a nice change!

Wow how lucky that you managed to score them and at such a good price point too! Haha.. well with a bit of practice you'll be running in them I'm sure x
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely fabulous, what a lucky find! Interestingly I got my first pair of Manolos ever this week, and they look so elegant, I'll be back for more. Maybe be inspired by you and get some Sedaraby-s...
ReplyDeleteOh, congratulations on this fabulous (and lucky) find! They are so so so beautiful! x
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the fabulous score! Now may I suggest you wear these when we meet and you can bat your eyelashes all you want! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOLOLOL! I can't guarantee I won't end up with broken ankles and will be too much in pain to contemplate batting my lashes.
DeleteThis is why I adore ebay at time, there is so many great deals to be found if you hun hard enough!

They are beautiful and worth a little pain! :)
ReplyDeleteAaaaaamazing, thanks for sharing. I would fork out the cash for these for my wedding next month (even if just for the picture), alas no sizes available! Guess it wasn't meant to be ...
ReplyDeleteKate, check them out at Liberty or Manolo Blahnik store on Old Church St, Chelsea. I think they have all the sizes (with the exception of mine!!).
DeleteI think my fiance's heart is sinking as I type this but I'm feeling much silent jubilation - I will skip down to one/both of these stores :-)
DeleteHelloo gorgeous! These shoes are a treat for the eyes!
ReplyDeleteIsn't eBay amazing? I've gotten most of my Miu Miu goodies there but none of them were as of a great deal as your Manolos!
ReplyDeleteYou have nice collection of shoes. It is looking amazing and beautiful.
ReplyDelete45 quid?! that's worth it just for walking around the house :) i remember stalking them ages ago (also because of satc - of course!) but could never come close to even affording them with my student income (or lack of..)
ReplyDeleteanother pair are the waterfall louboutin heels in the 'i heart ny' episode where she rides around with big in central park.. still haunts me!
