I featured 3 different ways of wearing a Chanel jacket here last month. I wanted to see if I could create a couple of outfits with a more contemporary and casual vibe. Given that much of my everyday life consists of working from home, going on school runs, coffee with friends and walks, I need to try to incorporate the classy jacket with my cheapo clothes from Uniqlo. While I often check out my favorite blogs in order to ogle at incredible footwear, I still haven't mastered the art of balancing on stilts, I mean stilettos. I nearly broke my ankle the other day when I wore my nude Stuart Weitzman wedges out . I'm sure the people at the offices must've had a good laugh at my expense watching me hobbled past and holding on to the side of the building for my dear life.

I wish I can afford to buy more Chanel jackets, particular ones in black. The Isabel Marant boucle jacket is the cheaper alternative for now. Until I managed to grow a money tree or win the lottery, I'll stick to searching on eBay, thrift shops and consignment stores for secondhand Chanel jacket as mentioned in the post here.

  1. Love your looks! A very uptown-meets-garconne chic vibe which I love. I'm curious. Would you ever consider looking for a Chanel necklace and incorporating it into your mix? That's another classic Chanel piece that I've always wondered about. Or do you think that's too logo-ed for you?

    1. I'm flattered by how you coined my style. Gosh, I've never thought of it that way. I've always wanted to own a Chanel necklace but lately, I've been put off after reading not-so-good reviews about them on TPF. £500 is still a lot for a faux pearl necklace but I do love their classic and timeless style.

    1. You and me both! There's so way I can afford brand new Chanel right off the rack. So I'm afraid it'll have to be Isabel Marant too.

  6. I hear you Marlene. I can't do high heels either. Wedge platforms are about all I can manage too. My one and only pair of Louboutins have a low kitten heel. (shrugs) Try wearing them inside your house for a few hours at a time to get used to the height and it gets a bit easier to adjust.

Beautiful outfits as always. I would kill for that Chanel jacket. It is a treasure. The Kelly too. Is it Barenia?! (drool...)

    1. I think I'm going to stick to low kitten heels for now. Mind you, I've spent 2 weeks trying to break into my wedges to no avail. I'm hopeless!

Regarding the Kelly, it's actually gold in togo. Funny how the color changes depending on the lighting.

  8. Wow, both jackets are absolutely gorgeous and love how you styled them!!! I know what you mean about heels - some are just so tricky to walk in! I sometimes have to practice at home before I venture out in them! Haha!

    Great post!!! :)

  9. I love that you can invest in just a few simple and beautiful jackets and wear them again and again with trendy/cheaper bottoms and tees and still look fabulous! All hail the jacket!

  10. Chanel inspired jackets are everywhere this season. I like them but unfortunately I don't think they suit me. I think I look like I'm trying too hard in them, better stick to my leather jackets and blazers ;) They are beautiful and I guess I just have to admire them on others.

Thanx for leaving me a comment and following me. I'm checking out your blog now coz I would love to know more about my new readers and followers.

I think you sound like a humorous lady. I like how you said you are finding ways to pair your Chanel with cheaper Uniqlo clothes and the way you balanced on "stilts".

  18. M!! LOVE these looks! You definitely put together outfits with a casual chic vibe, which is sometimes hard to do with Chanel jacket! Don't be surprised if you see me trying to copy some of these outfits!

And I hope your ankle is doing okay from the stilts incident!!!!!! I think wedges are comfy but there is always that fine balance between walking and almost killing yourself on platforms wedges! The things we do for fashion!! LOL!
