More cupcakes and cookies

There are so many moms out there who gave up their jobs to bring up children. I'm one of them and I don't regret a minute of it. For me, motherhood has been THE most rewarding, wonderful and sometimes frustrating experience.

However, there's always a little niggling thought that I'm more than just a mom and wife. It was such a revelation to find that I'm not the only one person feeling the same way. My personal belief is that it's important not to lose oneself once we have children and to continue to pursue our goals and dreams whether the eventual outcome is successful or not. I thought it'd be neat if I gather these ladies together a couple of times a month to brainstorm, network, encourage and support each other.

Today's our first session and I think it turned out well. It was also Lou's birthday over the weekend so I decided to hold an impromptu party. I baked these cupcakes and iced the cookies the day before. It was difficult trying to keep everything free of artificial coloring. I managed to find natural pink food coloring (beetroot extract)  from Asda. As for the brown shade, I just dumped one teaspoon of Green & Black cocoa powder. It doesn't look as even as the brown artificial coloring but it does the trick.
