Honey, I shrunk your jeans

For the second time this month, hubby managed the remarkable task of shrinking both my favorite jeans, leaving me with one last pair of straight cut jeans. Hubby does the laundry because out of all the necessary housework tasks, this is the ONLY one he would do willingly. Unless I managed to get divine intervention, it may take me a lifetime to achieve a 24 inch waist. I remember the days when I thought my 22 inch waist was rather big!!! I must've been mad.

Thankfully, they were Uniqlo jeans or else I would've dissolved into a pool of tears. I took off to the nearest Uniqlo shop, battling through the massive crowd, squeezed myself into numerous pairs of jeans in a tiny sauna which is also known as a fitting room, stood in a long queue to pay for the jeans, drank copious amount of tea and wandered aimlessly in Selfridges for 2 hours for the jeans to be altered.

I'm really liking their new Skinny Fit Tapered jeans. Once I had a huge chunk lopped off, they're slightly less tapered but a narrower skinny fit.  The cropped version looked odd on me and even more so if I'd altered it. It is too tapered on my petite figure making me look even shorter. My previous jeans kept bleeding onto my bags, skin and clothes so hopefully, fingers crossed, these won't do the same.

I couldn't understand the craze for J Brand Houlihans. Since Uniqlo has introduced their version of these skinny cargo pants for £29.99. I bought a pair and wore them out the next day. They're not bad at all and seem perfect for traveling. I'm sure it won't be long before they become a staple in my wardrobe.
