Before I delve into our girls' day out at Bicester Village, can I just say that we all look like giants next to teeny tiny Natalie who weighed no more than 90 lbs including her massive bag, jewelry and boots. Just so you know, I'm not one of those people who can eat anything and everything and stay model thin. One bite and a bulge protrudes next to my first chin. Metabolism has definitely stopped dead in its tracks. Pffffftttt.........

Anyways.....moan fest over and done with. We spoke for months about organizing a day out at Bicester. The ladies have promised me that it won't be just shopping. I love shopping but by the second hour, the Jekyll and Hyde transformation is pretty darn obvious. We ambled slowly down the tiled paths while surreptitiously ogled the stylish shoppers.

We poked our heads into my favorite French designers - The Kooples, Sandro and Bonpoint. Prada was heaving as usual. The candy hued wallets with strap priced around the £330 (ish) mark,  a slight discount from their £480 retail tag. We obediently followed Natalie who knows Bicester like the back of her hand and shops with a military precision that astounds us. Meanwhile, Michelle, Fiona and I looked slightly lost as the stores seemed to have changed location within the village since our last visit.

All of us left with our wallets intact (whew!) having spent more on coffee than clothes and bags. Michelle's daughter was remarkably patient. Not a word of protest as she waited for us to finish our loooooong chats and shopping expedition. It was such an amazing day out....that I wonder why we don't do this more often.

  2. Fab. I agree we all need more get togethers. Your' photography just keeps getting better and better. What a lovely bunch you are and G is one patient youngster. My little girl would have been hunting for a toy shop every second of the shopping trip. ;0) xx

  3. Ahhh Marlene, this brings back such lovely memories of a fab day! I didn't even notice how much you snapped away, you took in a lot more than I did!! What a gorgeous day it was to just mosey around in the most lovely surroundings, as the company was also amazing I totally forgot about shopping! Thank you for mentioning how well Gracie behaved, she made me very proud, she was very patient with us and she did enjoy being part of mummys blogging crowd for the day! We must get another date in the diary to meet again soon! xx

    1. I ADORE my small camera. I can snap away without anyone noticing. She was, wasn't she? Grace kept herself amused the whole time. I would've started to whine by the first hour.

  4. I love this place, but treat is as a treasure hunt because most of the time I end up buying a sandwich, coffee and heading back home empty-handed. :) The whole sandwich-buying business is now a family joke since it takes us over an hour just to get to Bicester. Still, it's fun, isn't it? Only girls would understand... :)

  7. Oh come on - I'm not that tiny in the photos! Fiona is just stunningly tall! Please note, that is so not a pout in the last shot - the wind was sticking to my lip gloss......honest, I don't pout! Amazing photo's Marlene, they really are so beautifully taken. Thank you all for a chilled out day, can't wait to do it again x

    1. Yes, you are. Anyone who weighs somewhere in the 40 something kgs mark is teeny tiny.

  8. Can you believe I'm yet to make pilgrimage to Bicester. Is it worth it?

    1. If you're the sort of person who doesn't mind going through each rack and do a bit of digging, I'll probably say yes. Since I'm too impatient and rarely take the time to properly shop, I've yet to find anything there.
