I'm sorry I've been MIA for the past week and a half. We're currently in Manchester spending Christmas with my brother and his family. I consider it a miracle that I even have a sibling in the U.K seeing how most of my family members are scattered all over the globe. This blog is just over 4.5 years old which is also another miracle in itself as things are becoming obsolete and redundant at the speed of light these days.

I'm rather amused but I'm not complaining about the sales now hitting BEFORE Boxing Day. I haven't gone crazy with shopping but I'm pleased I don't have to pay retail price and then wait nervously for the sale on the 26th. I've put together a collage of some pretty decent bargains here which I've also taken advantage of for myself and the family.

Shopping aside, I want to say what a privilege it has been to have conversed with some of you via email and social media. I've also have had the opportunity to meet a number of you face to face too. Thank you for your continual support and friendship. Here's wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a fresh beginning in 2015.

  1. Merry Christmas and happy new year! It has been great peeking into your life in the UK and drooling over your very cool accessories. It isn't easy always easy being a mom and an exit, but it sure can be fun.

    1. Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to you too. I still consider this a personal journal to a certain degree until such time when I decide that I'm done with blogging xxxxx

  2. I just decided to officially close my blog today (or rather..."privatised" it for the time being) and hopped over here to check out, then I saw the line on your blog hitting 4.5 yrs. Gotta agree on "things are becoming obsolete" now (in general). Whilst I still enjoy reading blogs, I have to admit I don't read blogs and forums much these days too. It's much too convenient to scroll through FB and IG. It is kinda sad actually. So, congrats on staying relevant still after nearly half a decade, Marlene!!

Moving on to cheerier things.. I have lately caught on the Valentino studs bracelet. Not the thick one featured in your post. Its the thinner version and I am smitten. I got it because it was the perfect yellow bracelet I have been looking for. I have been dreaming of a nice yellow bracelet to match with army green tops.

The fit is pretty ideal (I have annoyingly thin wrists when it comes to shopping for bracelets..just like having small feet when it comes to shopping for shoes. You know that kinda pain right?).

Like the balenciaga bracelets (which fit me pretty ok too), I think this Valentino bracelet will mark the start of another slipper slope (i.e. the start of a myriad colours). I feel bare without bracelet or ring of any sort. LOL.

And that yellow kenwood...I walked past the other day and the yellow caught my attention (no..no..yellow isn't my current obsessed colour). I thought it was pretty cool to have such a bright colour in the kitchen!

Sorry for the long and random comment. Indulge in me since I seldom "surface" these days. :)

    1. Blogging was a big thing a few years back. So many of my favorite bloggers have decided to close shop as you've said. IG is so much easier and FB is how I get in touch with my friends these days.

I still love the odd Hermes accessory but I think I've moved on from my H fever days. I think the bracelets from Balenciaga and Valentino are really cool but so much more affordable. I tried on the Rock Stud flats yesterday at Selfridges. Darn it! It's true to size so size 35 was still too big. Pfffft.

I was really tempted to get the KitchenAid mixer but I've got such a tiny kitchen. Besides, I was really tempted by the cheerful yellow color!

  4. I for one am very glad that you still find *us* interesting enough to keep posting. Thank you for all your hard work on this blog.
Was trying to avoid the after-Christmas sales but I am too weak and scooped up a Christopher Lemaire dress (the wool knit one in butter) from Net-a-Porter. At least it was 70% off and at least everything he does is perfect. Happy holidays!

    1. Caille, I won't lie and say that blogging after 4.5 years is easy. It gets harder. So thank you so much for the encouragement.

I'm still waiting for the 70% markdown. Everything's still sitting at 30% to 50% discount. Hopefully, they'll include more selections into their sale. I was hoping Comme des Garcons wallets would go on sale but no such luck. Bummer!
