Lately, my brain feels like a layer of dust have settled around it along with cobwebs taking up residence. It must be the stifling heat and the lethargy setting in. Not that I'm complaining because it's easy to get used to the island lifestyle. We've slowly transformed into vampires. The morning and siesta stretched until 6pm before we emerge from our cave to feast on seafood while gazing at the setting sun and walking leisurely along the beach hoping to burn off 50 calories.

The A/C is the best thing EVER about the apartment. We thanked our lucky stars that we were smart enough to book an apartment that has one installed because it was turned on 24/7. The heat is unbearable during the day but the gentle breeze in the evening is a pleasant reprieve. Little wonder why the streets are emptied out of people during the day.

Of all the islands within The Cyclades, Paros was one I've always wanted to visit but never had the opportunity. I'd booked our apartment, conveniently located in the middle of Parikia, seconds from the beach many months ago but we only got around to buying our ferry tickets nearly 24 hours before. Bad mistake especially at the height of the tourist season.

We managed to nab the last 3 tickets on the ferry which left just before midnight. Thinking that we had to spend the next 4 godforsaken hours till the wee hours of the morning on deck chairs outside, we squealed like little kids (okay, Lil L is forgiven seeing that she IS a child) when we found out that we'd paid for an entire cabin. The room and toilet were spotless. Not a single speck of dust or dirt could be seen. I've spent enough time hanging my head over the rails on a ferry to feel tremendously sorry for the young families who had to camp on the floor or any available chairs along the corridor.

More on Paros soon............

  2. The photos made it look crisp and cool, love all the bright colours! Had to chuckle about the 'reckless Hermes' bag. :-)

  3. The Tom Ford bag made me smile. I considered buying a Tom Ford lipstick today. It was $50 so I quickly made my excuses and left. Gorgeous though.

Paros looks even more beautiful than I remember and I do recall the late night ferries and crowded decks so you did well to get a cabin.

    1. I've heard good things about Tom Ford lipsticks but i'm not sure I can be persuaded to part with this much cash for a lippy.

Are the interior shots the apartment?! Brilliant idea. It looks better than a hotel.

    1. That's the interior of the apartment. I can do hotels if it's a short stay but anything longer than 3 days....I start getting antsy.
