Fail-Safe Outfit

Friday 6 June 2014

Outfit: Zara blazer, Uniqlo silk shirt,  Zara boyfriend jeans, Marni ankle wrap sandals (similar here), Hermes belt, Hermes Collier de Chien and Chanel wallet on chain.

I'm in my casual gear most of the time (read: track pants). Making sartorial choices for slightly dressier events leave me frazzled most of the time. The end result is never ever good whenever I overthink about my outfits. I'm not the most creative with putting together a look with a wow factor but when all my faculties fail, I resort to a mostly black outfit including the infamous boyfriend jeans. What's your fail-safe outfit?

  1. I cannot do wedding dressing etc so relate to this. Love this outfit - looks so sophisticated. Hx

  2. This is just my sort of outfit. Every time I see you in your boyfriend jeans I go onto the Zara website to look for similar jeans, but no luck as their boyfriend jeans at the moment are either too pale, too ripped, too baggy..I hope they repeat this style soon!! Love your outfits and love your blog!!

    1. I know what you mean. I've tried on a few boyfriend jeans at Zara over the past 6 months hoping to get a back up if mine gets too ripped. No luck. They're either too skinny or baggy or just too pale.

  3. I have to dress smartly for work now as they introduced a dress code! It was a good excuse to go shopping though! My weekend wear is as casual as I can!

  5. Oh I love this look, totally cool chic and stylish! X my fail safe is similar jeans, top blouse (lacey) and a blazer or Chanel lookalike jacket ( wishing I had a real one like you) xx

  7. You look really chic here! I'm quite a simple dresser. So my fail safe outfit is often a dress and a pair of flats/wedge heels. I like to keep my jewelry simple: a chunky watch, bracelet and a pair of earrings. I add drama with a flick of eye liner :)

  8. Absolutely hate dressing for special events/occasions, If I can get away with it I'll end up in a tunic type top, skinny jeans and heels.
Love your look, very chic and stylish.

  9. My failsafe would, more than likely, include jeans. I am going to a ball, at the end of the month, so you can imagine what I am like. A ball for goodness sake?!? I am keeping it simple with a Topshop Unique strapless jumpsuit. You look like chic perfection here. H xx

  12. You can't go wrong with a good blazer. And may I just say, I LOVE your sandals. They look both comfy and stylish, surely a holy grail of shoes.
