I've now realized that many of you are silent readers from all over the world. Perhaps you're a little shy or prefer not to comment (totally understandable)....... Some of you wrote in to share your stories recently which touched and inspired me in many ways. Thank you for taking the time to visit my little corner of the blogosphere.
I've never ever hosted a giveaway but I figured it's about time I do so. It's a bummer that there can only be one winner but moving forward, I'd love to do more of these. This giveaway is for a Monica Vinader Fiji Friendship bracelet. I feel this is a rather apt gift which represents this blog in many ways - simplicity, unpretentious, personal and friendship. The winner can choose the metal (silver or gold), color and engrave it with your name or a personalized message. Each color symbolizes different traits - peace, wisdom, calm, hope, prosperity, success, vitality etc.
Just pop your email address via the comment box (so I can contact you if you win). If you're so inclined, please feel free to follow me on any of these social media - Instagram, Twitter, RSS feed, Pinterest, Facebook or Bloglovin (but only if you wanted to). The giveaway is open till 9th of March 2014 to any readers who live in these countries (unfortunately, Monica Vinader does not ship to ALL countries yet):
Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jersey, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America.
** This is not a sponsored post and will be paid for by yours truly.
The giveaway is now CLOSED. Thank you to all who participated in my first ever giveaway. I look forward to doing another one in the future.
Love this givaway, love the blog too!

Found your blog (by reading your comment) at one of Tabitha's post (Bourbon and Pearls) towards the end of last year. Been following you since then and love your blog. I live in London and can totally relate with your story relocating into England (from the east) and I must admit that when I read your blog, I feel like you and I have so much in common. Love your style and been hooked with your blog that I keep checking at least 3x a week. So kind of you to share some of your blessings...those are pretty simple yet elegant bracelets. My email is: els_961@yahoo.co.uk
ReplyDeleteI never win these things but I'll comment. I love your blog and check in often. I love that you're not all high end fashion and fancy but you stuff that most of us can relate too. If you get a chance maybe you could look at my little sewing blog (which is sort of fashion related) essjcreative.com.
ReplyDeletean amendement to my previous post, meant to read "but the stuff that you wear most of us can relate to".

DeleteSuch a lovely giveaway ... so very you! theflakyfashionista@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHello, I would like to enter. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Marlene! I'd love to enter but if ok I'd rather not share my email address on a public forum. I have been a follower of your blog (as well as on Instagram) for over a year a year now when I stumbled upon it online while searching for style inspiration on how to wear my Isabel Marant Dicker boots. Your writing makes me laugh and I really like your style (here is to me hoping I will look as good and stylish as you when I am 40!) Krista
ReplyDeleteHi Krista, not a problem at all. Consider yourself entered. I'm so sorry, I would do things different in the next giveaway. Do you mind checking back for the results? Thank you ever so much for the encouraging words. That's really kind of you to say so :)
DeleteI love your blog and the fact that you mix high street in your daily wear. Would love to win this Monica Vinader bracelet :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm another silent one :) Found your blog through Assembled Hazardly, when I was trying to detox my wardrobe. I have to say that you two ladies completely changed my outlook! I was afraid that my style would become boring if my wardrobe only consisted of a few quality items, but BOY was I wrong! Not only do I truly love everything I own today, I find it even easier to "update" my wardrobe every season (hello burgundy New Balance Sneakers to me for spring!). I love to visit your blog for inspiration because to me you've mastered to be chic and stylish, and you do it the effortless kinda way, which I only hope I will master some day. That said, I don't wear much jewellery on a daily basis and don't own any bracelets, which is why I would love to be the lucky winner of one of these beauties. Thank you for a great blog!
ReplyDeleteWarmly,
Djulijana
djulijanabygroth@gmail.com
Djulijana, what a lovely thing to say! Especially when I wear the same clothes again and again and again....
DeleteHi, a reader from Kuala Lumpur who is very much inspired by your Chanel and Hermes collection. I like the way you accessorised your outfits with Chanel and Hermes pieces and your principle on "less is more". Actually, I now started to look for vintage Chanel pieces after reading your blog a year ago and lucky me that I now possessed 3 vintage pieces from Chanel and the journey continues. I was particularly inspired by your story on a granny still holding tight to her 40 year-old Hermes Kelly. Looking forward to reading more great stories from you.
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to write. I'm touched by what you've said so thank you again. I haven't seen the elderly lady for a while but I used to see her every time I'm in London. I still think the vintage Chanel pieces are far more beautiful than the current over-embellished ones.
DeleteLove your blog - so different to many other 'fashion' blogs with its realness! rockandpearl @ yahoo.co.uk
ReplyDeleteYour blog is a constant inspiration. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely gesture! Enjoy your blog, enjoy the down to earth nature of it. Please keep it up!
ReplyDeleteWould like to enter (but not post my address publicly)...
Not a problem! Do remember to check back after the 9th. Thank you for the lovely compliment. Much appreciated xx
DeleteHey Marlene I'm one of your more or less silent readers but I do want to tell that I find your writing very refreshing and photography wonderful! Thanks for running the comp. My email's ephemerette at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway, good luck all! emmaonthehill22@yahoo.co.uk
ReplyDeleteI'm another silent reader. I love your blog and your down to earth yet inspirational take on fashion. Also love your bright New Balance sneakers- your look finally made me go for the citrus J.Crew New Balances I had been umming and aahing about (Can a 40 year old not -stick-thin person really pull them off?!) Would love to be considered for the giveaway. My e-mail is denise.tomlinson@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely compliment! I'm not stick thin either. I've never ever received so much attention on anything I've worn except for these New Balance sneakers. I'm getting used to strangers walking up to me asking where they could get their hands on them. And definitely get the brightest colored NBs out there!
DeleteLove the blog - have followed you eedwardnic@aol.com
ReplyDeleteAnother silent reader- I love your style! l_darvell@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea to give away this gorgeous gift to a virtual "friend". I've just found your blog and will enjoy following you and your wonderful pictures.
ReplyDeleteHi Marlene - what lovely bait to draw all your silent readers out! I adore your blog! I think it is wonderful how you recycle your wardrobe and invest in key pieces that last. It led me to do a massive wardrobe edit and now I actually know what I need to purchase (what a revelation) instead of frittering away money on random purchases. Thank you too for your post on 'real women', so refreshing and down to earth. I'm not keen to post my email address publicly either... but in the unlikely event that I do win, you'll certainly be hearing from me!
ReplyDeletewould love to enter this giveaway! absolutelyfuzzy at gmail x

Silent reader here too, too shy and unstylish to comment! Such a lovely gesture! Love your blog, and enjoy the down to earth nature of it. Please keep it up!
ReplyDeleteWould like to enter (but not post my address publicly)...
oh hush, Sara! Never say you're too unstylish. You're talking to someone who wears sweat pants nearly everyday! Unfortunately, the giveaway closed on 9 March but I'd love to do another. Thank you ever so much for writing your first ever comment here.
