Crazy weather

Posts have been rather sporadic at best this week. It's a little hard to think about fashion when we've been given severe weather warning with gale force winds tipping at 70 mph. Everyone here have been watching the rising water levels with horrified fascination. Thankfully, we're a distance from the river but our friends aren't. Parts of Winchester have already flooded and there's more rain to come.

We've been told that the ceiling in our flat may cave in (comforting news, NOT) but no sane roofer will risk his life being blown off the top of the building. It was a relief to read that the navy and the military have been brought in to help stem the flow of water from the Itchen into the city center. We're far luckier than those in Somerset. Meanwhile, it's great to be a kid. No school and lots of goofing around.

Sending lots of love to those of you in south of England who are faced with similar devastation along with many of you who have to deal with widespread polar vortex.

  1. This weather has been insane. Has anyone been spared? Good Luck with your roof!

  2. Stay safe! And let's hope the weather calms down soon. The prospect of no roof is not good!

On a lighter note - the picture of Lil L and friend is too cute. Btw, she really does look like you in this pic - have you thought about switching to pink glasses? :o)

  3. Oh no...such dreadful weather and you guys have gotten it so bad down in the South of England. We are so lucky here - just wind, not as much rain. Stay warm and dry (if you can).

We have the same kinf of hard weather in the west side of my country, flooding (several times this winter) and strong wind, not only on the Coasts but also in the rest of the country. As for normal winter weather, I mean cold and snow, unfortunately, nothing here. I write unfortunately, and I apologize for those who have to live with the freezing cold a snow storm, because that is what we should normally have ainstead of this. But fret not: we have now a clear view of what WE are goig to suffer because or the global warming which should reinforce during the coming years, thanks to us humans! I know I know you think that cold is different for the global warming, don't you? This cold is the result of the melting of ice in the Poles which has already reached quite a great and not to be reversed (again thanks to US) level. So be prepare for what's to come. I am not pessimistic but I open my eyes and ears. Mother Nature is not to blame, we are, for that matter and we have to live with it now as will have our children and grand children. So let's make the best of it.

  5. Flooding at your end and one of the driest few weeks ever at my part of the world.

I know nothing about roof, except my grandma's place had to repair their roof due to old age (leaving parts of upstairs to the elements). And it rained that night.

  6. And here we are in Northern California with a DROUGHT. I wish you could send some of that rain here, so we can take showers this summer without water rationing. :-(

    1. I would so love to send you TONS of rain. Totally nuts. You guys are having a drought and we have so much rain that we're living in fear of rising water levels.

  7. At school and during my studies, I am the same as in life, but anyway, when I go to school or university, I use navigate to this web-site, which makes it easy to get a good mark from the reporters who are there.
