What I REALLY REALLY wear

Monday 9 December 2013
sweats2
Outfit: Isabel Marant Kady jacket, Isabel Marant x H&M sweatshirt, The Kooples sweat pants, The Kooples wedge sneakers (similar here at 30% off)

Pride aside, here's what I REALLY wear most days of the week. Make up that's sort of rubbed off, pants that take a life of their own and start to slip down as I walk, sweatshirt that's half tucked in, hair tied back so that I can actually see what I'm doing, shiny forehead cos it's too much work slathering on layers of foundation/primer/pressed powder (blah blah blah....I forget the sequence).... etc. Glamorous? Hah!

Ever wonder how bloggers get their photos taken? Well, I do. Personally, I beg, cajole, bribe and under extreme circumstances, threaten (erm.... neither child nor husband was injured during the shooting. Pun intended). The momzilla/wifezilla in me emerge like a phoenix rising from the ashes, shouting instructions from several meters away from my victim - bend, shoot lower, focus, point that red dot ON MY FACE.....my face, not my crotch!!. And I'm supposed to smize while screaming out directing the photo shoot?! It doesn't help that I have a 7 year old who critiques from the sideline. "Mom, don't smile like that. You look crazy" "worrrrrk iiiiiiit" So why am I doing this again?

  2. This cracked me up! Seriously, your everyday uniform is perfect and miles better than many of the outfits I see around here. And shudup about that Kady jacket!! That's an outfit transformer if I've ever seen one.
L is hilarious. My kids do the same thing! xoxo

    1. I can't believe how quickly the Kady sold out at 30% discount. Oh well.... I paid full price. *sniff* *sniff* Ah yes, kids these days. We should go back to the days when kids are meant to be seen and not heard.

  4. Hahhahah. This is awesome. Love your description of what it's like when you're taking photos. Sounds like quite the entertaining experience.

Totally love your real life outfit and personally I like seeing outfits like this way more than the contrived ones that people often post. Love your style and can't spot a shiny forehead at all. xx

    1. I wish I could say I had a very "zen" experience but it never ever is! I admit looking at a lot of photos out there now and say, REALLY??! They really wore that in 10 inches of snow??!

  5. I love seeing real outfits that people actually wear and you can have a life in. And at least you've got further than me with the "photographers". My hubs is half hearted to say the least and then he starts messing around trying to take shots like under his leg, behind his back and so on. And I can't get a single in focus whole body shot by any of my boys. No wonder I stick to a mirror!

P.S. If that this slumming, I want to slum just like that.
