via Chanel F/W Haute Couture 2014 collection. Come to mama!

I've professed my love for the Chanel tweed bouclé jacket on numerous occasions. I could write poems (though no one in their right mind would ever want to read them) about my love affair with them. They're the Rolls Royce of jackets and spawned millions of copies worldwide. Wear them up or down, give it a feminine twist or go totally punk, the choice is yours. The Chanel Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection has just hit the catwalk recently. Not that I could afford a sleeve or button from the collection but there's nothing wrong with drooling over the photos.

If you're like me and forking out a small sum of fortune that equates to a down payment for a house isn't your cup of tea, you can get Chanel jackets at secondhand markets like Vestiaire Collective or consignment stores for a fraction of the original price. Meanwhile I still dream of the day when I could buy a Chanel Haute Couture jacket. Am I the only one this obsessed with Chanel jackets? (please say I'm not.......!)

  1. No you're not! They're timeless true luxury pieces that you can wear for any occasion. How can you not like them?

  2. I am in love them also, I remember working in Paris once and i found this second hand shop full off them, wonderful vintage ones. It was like being in heaven, however, I thought they were all missing their buttons, so never purchased. I since found out the the owner of the shop takes the cc logo buttons off and keeps them under the till for safe keeping, you obviously got them once you have purchased a jacket.

  3. I'm with you. They're so classic and beautiful. The lines are perfection, and the texture is just yummy. I would rock one with some well-worn skinny denim and a soft tank. When they're dressed down, they make me happy. Probably because it give the illusion that I could afford it. Haha. ;) Great images.

  5. I like them punk'd!

I tried three on in London last time and hated all of them, they were so frumpy, love yours though.

  6. Another fan here! I want to be like you and find them in a thrift shop! I went to a few of the famous Paris consignment stores last month and while there were definitely Chanel jackets, they were still upwards of 700 Euros (sigh). I love that the same jacket can be ladylike or punk.
Ooh and I just found you on Pose. I'm a newbie and am just getting used to using it. It is fun so far!

    1. I've found Chanel jackets to be pretty expensive in Paris. I haven't found a bargain there yet. You've just reminded me to upload a photo on Pose. It's been a while since I've updated my Pose page.

  12. I don't know if the bottom ones are overtly punk, but if they are, its quite wearable and love the look. Of course Brits always make punk look good!

  13. Can't say I am obsessed (I don't like being obsessed over anything... ), but I adore them. It would certainly be wonderful to have a classic black one some day.
