No, I'm not referring about controversial social issues that normally spring to mind when one talks about a wedge issue. Mine's more inane than that. I'd ordered these Halogen Bianca wedges from Nordstrom weeks before my friends' wedding but the first package disappeared along with the Yodel (courier) driver. So somewhere out there in rainy England, a burly man is tottering on my US size 5 wedges. I hope he likes them as much as I do. The replacement never made it in time for the wedding either.

These Halogen Bianca wedges run true to size. The smallest size they go down to is a US 5. They're a little big on me but the ankle strap holds my foot in place. The 1.5 inch wedge is comfortable enough for everyday wear which helps because I'm constantly running from one place to the next. I'm smitten with these ankle strap beauties and am contemplating about their leopard print version.

On a different note, has anyone noticed how the temperature has dropped dramatically overnight? You probably can't tell but I had three layers on here (vest, t-shirt, blazer) along with a cashmere shawl just to keep me from freezing.

  1. Looking stylish & chic in that outfit! Sorry to hear that the Bianca wedges never arrived on time for the wedding though. :( What did you end up wearing for that?

  3. Glad to see you're making more appearances, Marlene! I love this menswear look you've got going! Those flats are so versatile too. I think the ankle strap really adds to the classic patent flat. I should probably add more practical flats to my wardrobe, but I always seem to go for my heeled boots or sneakers. :/

    1. Doh. Insert "wedges" everywhere where "flats" are mentioned!

  4. I see you're getting to like posing ... Isn't it encouraging to receive positive feedback ! I wish I had flat hair to wear a hat... I think I'll never know that pleasure !

  5. Your comment about the man wearing your wedges totally made me laugh haha! I love hats on you. You pull them off so well and it totally accents the whole look. :) I'm glad to hear the the wedges work even if they're a lil big and the ankle strap really does add that extra something to the wedge. They're great!

  6. I think this is my favourite look of yours so far - I love mannish styling. Blazers, crombies and all the rest. And the hat really pulls it together. I was surprised by the choice of shoe because I would have expected you to have boots on because the temperatures have dropped tenfold just recently But the shoes look really good. I am really struggling with footwear at the moment - too cold to go without socks, too wet to wear suede, not cold enough to pull out the big gun boots - what's a girl to do? Love the Rag&Bone blazer - I was wondering what that looked like after you mentioned that you wore it to the Matches fashion evening. All very chic. I will shut up now.

  10. Marlene you look gorgeous! I'm seriously in love with your blazer & the shawl is a great touch! As others have mentioned, really glad to see you making more appearances :)
Yodel are the worst courier I've ever encountered, I actually refuse to buy from somewhere I know uses them to deliver now (unless I have no choice!) as I've had no end of problems with them! Utterly useless! Glad they finally came though & were worth the wait!

  15. Marlene you are looking so chic! I love your tonal outfit, and the wonderful accessories add just the right amount of interest. I didn't realise you were a size 5 in shoes, it must be frustrating when a lot of labels don't make shoes that small. That story about the courier is hilarious. I wonder what happened. Love those wedges though, great pick. They would have been perfect when you were photographing your friend's wedding.
