Normally, I have 10 minutes, maybe 15 minutes tops to get ready in the morning. I'm usually barely coherent while racing around trying to get Lil L changed and breakfast and packed lunch ready as well as getting myself dressed before my first cup of coffee. I've resorted to wearing my uniform aka a V neck woolen sweater which I bought in various colors from Uniqlo, skinny jeans and a pair of boots. All I need is a jacket to complete my outfit. At least I'm confident that this will make me look half decent when I step out of my front door.

I am totally with you on the idea of uniforms and I love the Isabel Marant jackets. Sadly, I got onto the Isabel Marant trend a bit late and there are none around to be found. Boo.
ReplyDeleteI like those outfits and I'd wear them too. What accessories (e.g. belt, bag) do you wear with them? Kooky polka dot socks? lol
I-Ping
I find "uniforms" to be great time savers and a gal with a great style like you is taking the "uniform thing" to another level!
ReplyDeletethis is so my style (well i am a IM fan after all!)
ReplyDeleteI don't find it "trendy" because I have been wearing her stuff for 10 years plus and I can still pull out a Tshirt or top or jacket and feel "in". For me, it's a classic:)
Thanks for this post. I do think I NEED that Fred jacket...
Have a great day

I-Ping, LOL. Believe it or not, I do wear polka dot socks! I'm a creature of habit so I tend to stick to my H belt or any of the Hermes or LV shawls. I will wear a woolen trilby hat on rainy days. As for bags, I normally carry a Longchamp Les Pliage tote if I'm out shopping. Otherwise, it's my trusted Evelyne or Kelly.
ReplyDeleteLily, awwww....you're so sweet! Things have been rather hectic lately so it's back to my usual uniform.
flower!!! How are you? I got on the IM craze only in the past 2 years so I'm late to the game. It's gratifying to know that I can still wear her clothes in a decade's time and they'll still be in fashion. I KNOW you NEED that Fred jacket.
Love all 3 looks, especially #1!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like my uniform, too! How is the fit on the Bator coat? I'm contemplating it!!
ReplyDeleteMona, I'm glad you like the first one. I do wonder, from time to time if the jacket was a little over the top.
ReplyDeleteLaura, my fashion twin :P The Bator is HUGE. Mine's size 0 which is what you should be getting. There's still plenty of room to layer but I just love the way it drapes particularly on the back. The cotton lining makes it super comfy.
Ugh. I knew it would be another thing to add to my list. :)
ReplyDeletethis is great
ReplyDeleteI too find the Uniqlo seaters to go with many outfits and I've bought a range of 10 colors till now. Great combinations of pieces. This is style , knowing how to put the same pieces and make different outfits

The Dolls Factory
Laura, I thought I'm done for autumn/winter but there are still a few things I've got on my mind.
ReplyDeleteDollsFactory, you're as bad as I am! I'm glad I'm not the only one stocking up on Uniqlo sweaters. And thank you for your kind words. It means a lot to me.
OMG! I love the first jacket. It's like Chanel, but with a kick-a@@ twist! I want! I want!
ReplyDeleteCS
Girl, these are some "cool" uniforms! HAHAHA I love them!!! You have the most amazing jackets. They are simply superb! You are one stylish CHICadee. Love all three of these looks, especially the first two! SWOOON! :D

I love your winter uniforms! (They are very chic even if you spend minimal time!) And so in love with all your IM stuff! Seriously!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a chance to make the cake yet! (And I'm excited about the lamb recipe because I LOVE lamb!) Will report back when I test it out!!
CS, you took the words right out of my mouth! I bought it because it looks like a Chanel jacket but a little more edgy and less painful on my wallet.
ReplyDeleteKim, you're a sweetheart as always!
Sam, you can see I've developed an IM obsession. BTW, this particular lamb dish was served at The Connaught many years ago and they charged a pretty penny for it. It costs so little to make it yourself.
I definitely do the "uniform" thing too. In summer it's a sundress and flip-flops and in the fall it's skinny jeans, a sweater and boots (much like your uniform!). Love all these jackets.
