Hermes Le Monde

Friday, 23 September 2011
It has been an insanely busy day. I felt like I've ran a couple of marathons in my ballet flats so my apologies for the late post.  I've just picked up the latest Hermes Le Monde magazine and I'm in love. It offers a glimpse into the world of Hermes with photos of artisans making mouthwatering Birkins which I'm sure are snapshots taken from this incredible book titled La Maison. Koto Bolofo is the first ever photographer who has managed to gain permission from Hermes' chairman, Jean-Louis Dumas to access and document every minute step of the production and manufacturing of Hermes products. The book costs £134 and is by no means cheap but it contains the most incredible eye candies and information which will be invaluable to Hermes lovers everywhere.

I adore this belt but I'm sure the price tag would be fairly astronomical.

I'm not sure which item I like more, the Collier de Chien or Jumping Boots or perhaps the leather pants if I can manage to squeeze myself into them.

  1. I dream of an Hermes Kelly bag! I hope to get one some day...and those riding boots are just amazing! It is quite a pricey read but perfect for the coffee table!

  2. It's amazing the craftmanship that goes into these luxurious bags. I'll probably be able to afford one when I'm in the nursing home- but dammit at least i'll be the most stylish one there- haha! Thanks for the post :)

  5. J'adore the Collier de Chien. I tried it on at the Sydney Hermes store in April and fell in love. I am determined to have it one day:) PS wouldn't mind the riding boots also!

  7. The last outfit is my favorite. The pants would fit alright, but i'm not sure about the shirt. I certainly need something more flowy to hide my middle section lol!

Cool book, will check it out on my next trip to H.

  8. Oh, that looks like a promising book! Thanks so much for sharing some pics from the book. Amazon only shows preview pages sometimes. It all looks so drool worthy!

  9. Bessie, I love my Kelly more than the Birkin which I'd painstakingly waited 3 years for. I don't have the Jumping boots (shown in the photo) but I have a similar pair from Hermes and they're just fabulous.

Sharon, you're too funny! I doubt you need to wait that long to own a Kelly.

Sassyuptownchic, the first time I saw a croc Birkin (not mine), my jaw hit the ground and stayed there for a long while. Stunning bag.

Michelle, I used to think the CdC was over the top but no more. I'd love to get one myself.

Kat, I've got the book in my Amazon basket. It's sooo expensive. I might treat myself to it for Christmas.

Lily, What??!! Are you kiddin' me?! You're so slender. Why don't we get together and compare our muffin top? I'd win hands down for being the more pudgy one.

Sam, I don't think these are excerpts from the book. Me bad for not double checking the photographer listed in the Le Monde. Nevertheless, I can only imagine the book would be absolutely incredible.

Tamara, thank you for stopping by and taking the time to post a comment.

  12. Thanks, T! BTW, I'm loving your HUGE collection of leather jackets!

Rachel, so very sweet of you to say so. *ahem* I might be able to squeeze into the leather pants with the help of two assistants and spanx.
