The weather is finally warm enough for me to start wearing my dresses again. You've probably seen this dress last year. I make no apologies for displaying the same dress, shoes and accessories over and over again paired in various ways. I believe in using everything in my closet to death but that does not mean I don't resole my shoes, mend any holes or look after my bags and accessories to prolong their life. I'll only invest in something I'll get a lot of wear out of it.
This 4 year old Karen Walker dress with flutter sleeves and scooped neck is very forgiving AND flattering. Two essential requirements for any clothing articles I purchase. It's also machine washable and there's no need to iron. I don't know about you but doing laundry and ironing are two torturous activities I'd rather do without. I've worn it to weddings, school runs or paired with tights and boots in winter.

Fabulous! Don't you love those season-less dresses that cam go everywhere? Love this one.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I decided to wear more dresses and would love to have a couple of your Karen Walker Dresses in my closet :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great post! I love all the versatile ways you wore this - the ted baker jacket is a fantastic piece too.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress, and the fact that it needs no ironing (i would rather eat dirt then iron, that's how much i hate it). I really like how you've shown it different ways, my favorite is the last outfit, since I love the Stuart Wiseman boots and the Louis Vuitton Shawl. You have such an awesome closet :)
ReplyDeleteI love your sense of style. It's a fabulous dress, and it seems to work all year round. I hope it lasts you many, many more years!
ReplyDeleteLauraloo, you couldn't have said it better. I'm trying to stick to seasonless dresses. After all, if I'd paid £££, they need to be worn. A LOT!
ReplyDeleteSog19b, I've always found Karen Walker dresses to be unique. I'd much rather invest in one or two of her clothes than buy a ton of high St brands.
Katherine, thanks! Glad you like the pairings. I think that Ted Baker jacket has been through snow, rain and hail!
Sharon, LOL! I thought of you when I photographed the LV shawl.
AA, you're very kind. Thank you. I've kept a lot of Karen Walker dresses from previous collections. They're still in vogue to this day.
Great outfits ... very practical and wearable too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, DA! This is definitely one of my favorite KW dresses.
ReplyDeleteLove your three looks, especially the one for hanging with the girls! So simple and elegant at the same time!

Thanks, Sam! I've worn the combination to a wedding once. So much easier to deal with a little one in flats.
ReplyDeleteFabulous outfits! I loe all three looks... that Hermes jewelry is to de for!

Three PERFECT outfits! Especially adore the first - the cream dress with the black/brown accessories is so Simple Chic. I'd copy the whole look if I could.
ReplyDeleteThe only Karen Walker available around here is sunglasses. Pooh.....
This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing blogs that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. Beaded Bracelets for Women
