It's spring time

Friday 8 April 2011
Even after 2 years, I'm still enamored with the little medieval town I live in. For most parts, the locals are very friendly and there's no shortage of social life. There's an international community here with expatriates from France, Romania, Italy, US and Australia. Each time I explore the little cobblestone lanes which twist and turn into yet another ancient building, it never fails to fill me with a sense of wonder.

A mixture of Georgian, Victorian and Tudor terraced houses lined the streets with bright contrasting doors. The remains of a castle nestled amongst residential homes and schools while a beautifully preserved cathedral sat proudly at the town centre where locals and tourists alike congregate to enjoy the sun during the summer months.

Tulips are in full bloom at the moment everywhere and sold in shops tucked in every corner. Spring is my favorite time of the year

  4. lauraloo, cilipadi, deauarmoires, this town reminds me of Aix-en-provence. Stunning especially in spring and summer. My friend alerted me to the skeleton. We were both flabbergasted that someone would have one in a house. I guess this could be their "burglar alarm"?!

  6. I'm terrible with flowers. I think they're magnolias. They're so many around town at the moment, all in full bloom. Thank you, Terri! I'm trying out my new Canon lens.

Hmm....never noticed her eyebrows. I was too busy ogling her dress :)

  8. q9y8, I bet you're as happy as I am that we're finally into spring. The countries we live in are rarely bathed in sunlight particularly in the winter months.
