Who's wearing Hermes Cape Cod watch

Monday 7 March 2011
I didn't realize how popular the Hermes Cape Cod watch is until I saw dozens of photos of various celebrities, fashion editors and socialites wearing them. I still love mine. There's still a side of me that remains a tomboy so the chunkier GM (Grande Modele) version suits me better. Although admittedly, every now and then I do get tempted by the daintier smaller sized Cape Cod. However, I wouldn't mind getting a cheerful orange strap to remind me of the sun after weeks of rather blah weather.

  2. Beautiful! I have the H-Our MM size, which is pretty big. Now I need to get a double tour strap after seeing these pics. Maybe Barenia or Etoupe!

  3. You're welcome, q9y8!

Lauraloo, the H-Our watches are just as delectable as the Cape Cods. Definitely go for the double tour. It certainly makes the watch more edgy and chic. You know I'll vote for etoupe any day!

  5. The design has definitely withstand the test of time and remains ever so popular to this day. Did you get a PM or GM, Linda?

  7. hmm... I was thinking about selling my pm in black on ebay but now am having second thoughts! I do love it, but I'm trying to pare down and my absolute favorite watch is a tank francaise, wondering if I really need more than one watch?!

  8. Rachel, I love both the Tank Francaise and Cape Cod. They're my absolute favorites. I think they're both very different. Cape Cod is perfect for casual days when you want something chic and edgy. As for the Tank Francaise, it's the more elegant alternative. Keep both!

  9. I also love my GM Cape Cod. I kind of wish I had gone for the TGM since I love big watches. I also wouldn´t mind an orange strap, or maybe something exotic;0)

  10. I think the GM size is perfect for you. After seeing the watch on you, I was obsessed about it for months! I'm way too accident prone for an exotic strap but yes, I'd love a louder color as an alternative.

  12. Hi G, what a kind thing to say. Thank you! I'm pretty petite myself, standing no taller than 5'2. I have smaller than average wrist but chose to go ahead with the GM sized Cape Cod. Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with either the PM or GM size as long as you feel comfortable.

Currently, I have the black double tour strap but I'd love to get either the Etoupe or Orange. Etoupe is a wonderful neutral and a great color and orange goes with most other colors. I've dealt with the watch department at the Hermes store in Sloane St and Bond St and they're both great to deal with. I think the PM size is £1550 (or thereabouts). Up until last year, there wasn't a price difference between the two sizes but there is now.
