Whenever I'm in the vicinity of Knightsbridge or Chelsea Kensington, bags like Hermes Birkins and Kellys are a dime a dozen. Once I was so busy admiring aa stunning crocodile Birkin, I nearly walk right into a lamp post. I'm stereotyping here but the general consensus is that the owners of these bags are usually beautifully dressed and look so polished. And then there's me. *cough*
There are a lot of threads on The Purse Forum where members post photos of their rainbow colored accessories inside their Birkins. I have no shame so I'm willing to admit that I've spent countless hours gawking at the lovely photos when I could've been more productive in other pursuits (cleaning the toilet, vaccuming, replying emails, work).
This is my one and only Birkin, a custom order because I wanted my first Hermes bag to be "special". Not only did the guys at Hermes thought I was crazy to order something in goatskin when they were having difficulty in sourcing the leather, I wanted a color which was what they deemed as a "limited edition". This is a 'before' photo when my Birkin still managed to look almost dignified.
You know, in most cases, the 'after' shot is always where one gasps at the amazing transformation after a makeover. In my case, it's the opposite.

Amazing! I love your chevre Birkin, I have the matching wallet -- beautiful and love getting a peek inside <3
ReplyDeleteLOL...great and funny post!
ReplyDeleteLoved it! And I think your birkin is still gorgeous no matter what ;-)
Love the white contrast stitching,
ReplyDeleteLove the palladium hardware,
Love the the color,
But what I LOVE most is how you use your birkin, it is just a causal tote. Bravo my dear!:-D
Thank you, featherfactor! I bet you get a lot of compliments for your wallet. Thalassa is a muted but still a striking color.
ReplyDeleteFebby, LOL. I decide not to gloss over the truth.
q9y8, *hugs* So nice of you to say so. Friends are often aghast at the things I pull out of my bags. They've seen chicken nuggets, fries, baguette, cakes, cookies etc etc. It's a Birkin but hey, it's just a bag :P
That's a true Mary Poppins bag! One of my favorite Birkins EVER!
ReplyDeleteYour birkin is beyond gorgeous! Thalassa is the perfect blue! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteLauraloo, LOL. That's so sweet of you to say so. You're absolutely right! Who knows what I'm going to pull out of my Birkin one day?
ReplyDeleteLinda, thank you! I haven't had the chance to use it much in the past few years.
I love your Birkin. I´m not a blue bag person but I could easily be persuaded to buy yours;0) I love palladium too. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteKat, I think all these compliments have made me fall in love with my Birkin all over again. There were times when I wished I'd purchase a more neutral color though.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteYes, your birkin is so pretty ..... may I know what's size is it ? seems to hold a lot :)
didi
Didi, it's a size 30cm. Yes, I've managed to stuff quite a lot into it. Believe it's no mean feat what I'd achieved!
ReplyDeleteThanks, hope I can own 1 someday :)

Didi, I hope you do. I don't use it as much as I should but handmade Hermes bags are a work of art.
ReplyDeleteOh lucky you. I've got the jumping boots but that,s as far as my budget will stretch.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I've got a case of envy here, Tabitha! I've been dreaming of a pair of jumping boots for a couple of years now.
ReplyDeleteI know this is an old post but am so loving your chèvre birkin in bleu thalassa. The color is so incredibly chameleon. My 35B is bleu thalassa in veau box with the same white stitching but in brushed gold hw. I love your blog and your attitude towards your B!
