Valentine's Day gift

Monday 14 February 2011
On Valentine's Day, most ladies get roses, a card, a box of chocolate or jewelry. I get a KitchenAid pitcher blender. I was thrilled when hubby lugged it all the way back from John Lewis. I'm not a fan of roses. Chocolates are fine once a month when I'm PMSing and in a foul mood. Van Cleef and Arpels vintage Alhambra onyx necklace costs a whopping £5K plus which will stay on my wish list for another decade or so. For now, I'm beyond excited that I've got the Rolls Royce of all blenders which will cut, puree and pulse till the cows come home. This piece of machinery is heavy because the base is made of die cast metal with a thick glass pitcher. The much lauded Magimix processor has a plastic pitcher which I detest.

  2. Never thought of it, Mi but yes, I think I'll try making soy milk with this. Nien gao turned out great. Would've been better if I've got fresh coconut milk. I ran out of brown sugar so I used golden caster sugar. The end product is more pale yellow but still tastes great.
